What we do
Healthy Workplace Occupational Health and Hygiene Consultants (HWP), earlier known as Healthy Workplace established in 2007, provides consultancy services in Occupational Health and Hygiene to Industry with special reference to mining, building and construction, asbestos cement products manufacturing and others. HWP provides one stop comprehensive occupational health services in compliance with statutory requirements including health surveillance, evaluation of chest radiographs in accordance with ILO International Classification of Radiographs of Pneumoconioses (2000), workplace monitoring of occupational hazards, training of medical officers in ILO Classification, ergonomic evaluation of mining machinery, Health Impact Assessment of projects, health promotion and awareness programmes, etc. HWP also provides services in formulation of regional and national programme for health surveillance, prevention, control and rehabilitation in silicosis and other dust diseases. We also offer services in design, development of packaging for products and supply of specialized products to the industry.

Brief Bio-data
Dr P K Sishodiya
Dr P K Sishodiya, the Managing Director and partner has more than 35 years of experience in Occupational Health and hygiene. He has worked in various capacities in academics, industry and headed Occupational Health Division of Directorate General of Mines Safety before taking over as Director, National Institute of Miners’ Health, Nagpur. He also worked as Occupational Health Physician for one of the largest manufacture of asbestos cement products and was part of the team for formulation of Indian Standards on “Safety in use of Asbestos”.
Dr P K Sishodiya, retired as Director, National Institute of Miners’ Health (NIMH), an autonomous Institute under Ministry of Mines. The institute is engaged in applied research in occupational Health and Hygiene relating to health of mine workers and providing technical support services to the mining and mineral based industry.
He also worked as fulltime Consultant, Occupational Health, to Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Labour Department, State Government of Rajasthan mainly engaged in Health Screening BOCW Workers for Silicosis. Under his guidance large number of cases of silicosis were detected in stone mine workers and BOCWs in Rajasthan and rehabilitation and relief scheme started for building and other construction workers. He also formulated “Rajasthan Policy on Pneumoconiosis including Silicosis for Detection, Prevention, Control and Rehabilitation”.
He did his MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences and post-graduation in Occupational Hygiene from University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK.
He is a certified “B” reader for ILO Classification of Chest Radiographs of Pneumoconioses and Resource Person for International Labour Organization and World Health Organization for training of medical officers in use of ILO Classification.
